Cost Reduction Techniques through Application of Lean Production System
 
Objectives / Description
Lean Production System also known as the Toyota Production System is a management technique that focuses on cutting out wastages, whilst ensuring quality. This approach can be applied to all aspects of a business – from design through production/manufacturing till distribution. Lean Production aims to cut costs by making the businesses more efficient and responsive to market needs. This approach attempts to cut all activities that do not add value to the production processes, such as holding of stock, repairing faulty products and unnecessary movement of people and product around the factory premises.

Understanding the importance of the subject, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) is organizing a one day workshop on “Cost Reduction Techniques through Application of Lean Production System”.

Name: Mr. Kiyoshi Yoshida
Description: Senior Production Management Expert from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). •Mr. Yoshida has 34 years of practical experience of working at Kanto Auto Works, Ltd., A subsidiary of Toyota Motors Corporation, Japan. •He was affiliated with SMEDA Industry Support Programme from April 2007 to March 2008 and provided technical guidance to 24 industrial units from different sectors including Auto Parts, Furniture and Pipe Manufacturing. •He has also served as Technical Expert, Ann Mei Vehicle Project Engineering Co. Ltd., China (2008~2009).
