Cost Reduction Techniques in Light Engineering Sector by Application of Lean Production System
 
Objectives / Description
Lean Production (also known as the Toyota Production System) is a Japanese approach to management that focuses on cutting out wastages, whilst ensuring quality. This approach can be applied to all aspects of a business – from design, through production/manufacturing to distribution. Lean Production aims to cut costs by making the businesses more efficient and responsive to market needs.

This approach sets out to cut out all activities that do not add value to the production processes, such as holding of stock, repairing faulty products and unnecessary movement of people and product around the factory premises.

Keeping in view the importance of Lean Manufacturing System, SMEDA & Gujranwala Business Center (GBC) have planned a training workshop specifically keeping in view the needs of Light Engineering Sector.

Description: Workshop will be conducted by a renowned Japanese Expert on the subject of Lean Production System. Profile of Mr. Khiyoshi YOSHIDA • Mr. Yoshida has 34 years of practical experience of working at Kanto Auto Works, Ltd., A subsidiary of Toyota Motors Corporation, Japan. • He was affiliated with SMEDA Industry Support Programme from April 2007 to March 2008 and provided technical guidance to 24 industrial units from different sectors including Auto Parts, Furniture and Pipe Manufacturing. • He has also served as Technical Expert, Ann Mei Vehicle Project Engineering Co. Ltd., China (2008~2009).
